Q:  What is Tequila?

A:  Tequila is a Mexican spirit made only with Blue Weber Agave (agave tequilana). However, it can be a mixto tequila (of lower quality), then it is made of minimum of 51% agave and the rest typically cane sugar and other fillers.

 

Q:  What is an Agave plant?

A:  An agave plant is often thought to be a cactus. But in fact the agave plant is a succulent. There are over 150 different types of agave varieties. 

 

Q:  Can tequila come from anywhere?

A:  No. Tequila can only come from specific areas in Mexico.

 

Q: What is the difference between a Highland and a Lowland Tequila?

A:  The agave grown to produce the final product of tequila came come from different elevation and areas. This creates a different flavor profile between the two types of regions of where agave are grown.

 

Q: Does Tequila have a worm in it?

A: Common misconception from another Mexican spirit called Mezcal.

 

Q: Is only good Tequila expensive?

A:  A misconception with any spirit. You can find some really great products that are not expensive.
